An exciting game this afternoon against Amesbury Juniors. The colts got off to the perfect start by winning a corner after a terrific move straight from the kick off, from Matthews corner James rose unmarked to score with a good header, only 33 secs had been played. Unfortunately when 1min 30 secs was showing on my watch the score was 1-1. The game entered a strange period of when every attack looked like it was going to finish in a goal and it wasn't long before Amesbury scored their 2nd, another sloppy goal from my perspective. James scored his 2nd and the equaliser with a fine finish after a great run and cross from Eddie, but again we shot ourselves in the foot by conceding 3 more silly goals. A free kick was awarded approx 25yds from goal, Eddie stepped up to hit a lovely shot up and over the wall into the bottom left hand corner via the post. 3-5 at halftime.

The performance level in the 2nd improved tremendously from all. The defence were getting to grips with the big Amesbury striker, so we found ourselves on the front foot for most of the half. A superb pass from Eddie allowed Dan to reduce the deficit with a neat finish. The colts kept on pushing for the equaliser but the ball just wouldn't fall into the right place, some superb defending from Tom.T, & Alex ably supported throughout the half by Tom. R, Jacob & Warwick along with some terrific goalkeeping from Jasper ensured there was only 1 goal to seperate the teams despite the improved effort we were not able to stop Amesbury nicking another goal. Plenty of positives to take from the 2nd half performance, well done to all. Thank you to the parents for your brilliant support.
