The Blacks were unlucky to exit the League Cup at the preliminary round stage after a goal in the second period of extra time settled a thrilling tie with FC Calne.
A string of fantastic saves from Rowan kept the visitors at bay as they enjoyed the better of the first half but Calne finally broke the deadlock just before the break.
Luca’s crisp finish following a great run by Rowan drew the Colts level in the second period and, although they pushed for a winner and created a number of chances, the teams were locked together at 1-1 at the end of the regular 40 minutes.
Will saved a Calne penalty in the first period of extra-time but his heroics proved in vain as the visitors tapped home the decisive goal with the seconds ticking away and a shootout looming.
Luke turned in a skilful midfield display and was supported well by the powerful running of James. Caleb and Sam showed great determination and made some excellent tackles throughout, Josh and Kyron also battled away at both ends of the field and newcomer Alex almost had a moment to remember when he saw a goalbound shot blocked in extra-time.
