U10 Blue Division: CCCFC Whites 9 Trowbridge Town Blacks 2 Print
Season 13/14 - Under 10 White

The Whites banished their Trowbridge hoodoo in style as they continued their flying start to the Blue Division campaign.
Unable to get the better of Town on three occasions – most notably in the League Cup semi-final – last term, the hosts overcame a very shaky start to run out comfortable winners.
Colts looked far from assured at the back in the early stages and were indebted to a brilliant penalty save from Max inside the first couple of minutes, the keeper flinging himself to his left to deny the visitors.
But his team-mates did not heed the warning and fell behind when the ball went in off the underside of the bar despite the desperate efforts of Tom on the line.
Colts hit back immediately as Bradley and Matthew worked the ball through the visiting defence from the kick-off for the latter to plant the ball into the net for the equaliser.
A second soft effort put Town 2-1 up but again the home side kept their heads and were quickly on level terms thanks to the goal of the game. Luke fed Toby on the left and his blistering run and cross from the left was finished first time by the onrushing Brandon M from close range.
From there, the Colts never looked back and another spectacular effort saw them go ahead for the first time. There appeared little immediate danger when Tom collected the ball 20 yards from goal but his powerful effort sailed over the keeper’s head and into the roof of the net.
With his tail up, Brandon M burst through the middle before finishing clinically to put Colts 4-2 up at the end of a breathless first half.
The second period was rather more straightforward and saw Toby find the net with two cracking efforts, the first from Matthew’s brilliant pass and the second an angled drive that went in off a post.
Matthew bagged his second to take his tally to four in two games and Brandon M completed a memorable hat-trick when he bundled the ball home. George capped another lively performance when Bradley’s determined play set him up for the final goal of the morning.
While the strikeforce shared the goals and caught the eye with their pace and power, midfielders Luke and Brandon H showed tremendous vision and tenacity to keep the home side on the front foot. Behind them, Josh helped steady the ship with another dependable display at the back.
