U11 Westbury A 6 CCCFC White 2 Print
Season 13/14 - Under 11 White

The team were asked to make a big start against Westbury - and they did

They were asked to pass the ball more than recent games - and they did

So what went wrong......

The lads actually played ok as a unit, but there was a bit of a divide between those who stepped up for the physical battle and those who stepped back a bit. Westbury had some big lads but that cannot be an excuse for not competing. After starting well it was a bit perplexing that we found ourselves 4-0 down at the break. These goals included a few soft goals, and one resulting direct from a baffling penalty which Archie actually pushed on to the bar only for the westbury player to smash the rebound into the net. Felix, the Toms, Jayden and Max were competing very well at the back.

The second half performance was much improved and was definitely a reason for optimism - the score in this half was 2-2 and we definitely edged the posession and shots on target stats. JJ provided an assist for Max to slot home our first and then a great move ended with Alex (newly crowned player of the month)playing in Archie to  slot home a well deserved goal.

Lessons learned? Man up guys. Keep passing and keep concentrating for 60mins (not 40, not 50) - if you do all this you can show your skills. If you dont - teams like Westbury will walk over you.
