U11 Melksham Typhoons 2 CCCFC 2

Another much improved display from the lads against a very good Melksham side on a large pitch which seems to suit our style of play.

The team started off a bit slow and unfortunately we were punished with a soft goal, however the lads showed good character and kept pressing. The back line of Ben L, Daryl, Jude and Alex tightened things up, some great passing from the Midfield of Joe, Ben C and Henry allowed Nick and Josh P to start getting some shots in and we were unlucky not to equalise before the break.

It didn’t take long in the second half before we got our reward, a great pass from Joe to Dante who smashed the ball into the back of the net. After some fantastic defending and a couple of really good saves from Henry Melksham managed to get back in front. Once again it was a real show of strength and it wasn’t long before some individual skill from Nick levelled the score, we had a couple of chances to win the game with Nick, Dante, Josh P and Joe coming close.

I was particularly impressed in the way everyone kept their positions and played together as a team.

I know we did not win but this was a great performance, best of the year so far and a pleasure to watch.
