Football is a funny old game.......

We created 15 chances, we had a disallowed goal and we hit the post 3 or 4 times - I guess the problem is that we only scored 1 goal from all that!

In our first ever county cup game we never looked like losing, but just could not convert a decent ratio of the chances we created.

The team played well and completely dominated the game - they just didnt do the actual things that win you games - score goals and keep clean sheets! Archie led the line really well and hit the post twice - he also netted a goal that had the coaches scratching their heads when it was disallowed for offside. He did create the goal we took the lead with by crossing the ball with his LEFT FOOT (!) for Josh Wood to force home.

Alex, Jayden and Max took a real hold of midfield but we tended to dribble too long delaying the killer pass until our forwards strayed offside. Too many long range shots tell me that some of the team are more interested in scoring and personal glory than team success - these are things that we will work on in training as the team will suffer if we dont address this. Felix, Ben, Tom B-S, Toby and Tom C were superb in both defense and midfield - we just got caught on the break twice. Rory took over in goal for the second half and did really well-  only getting beat by an unstoppable shot in the last minute. Well done guys - work to be done - but youre all really good players and we will get there.
