Season 13/14 - Under 10 White

The Whites had fun in the sun at Woodmarsh as they carved out chance after chance en route to victory on a glorious March morning.
Colts struggled to put their passing game together in a slow start to the game but gradually began to test the Trowbridge keeper as Bradley and Brandon M forced him into action. The latter hit a post after a cross by Matthew, who then did likewise direct from a corner.
The visitors’ persistence paid off when Brandon M pounced on a loose ball to break the deadlock from close range.
Luke’s powerful performance in midfield helped to put Colts on the front foot as the first half drew to a close and he put his side 2-0 up at the break when he spotted the keeper out of position and unleashed a piledriver from distance.
With Brandon H and Josh looking solid and distributing well from the back, Max was rarely troubled in goal – although the keeper did not put a foot wrong when he was called into action and was rewarded with a third consecutive clean sheet.
Tom’s strong running on the right was a real feature of the second half and he was denied by a last-ditch tackle after dribbling into the box before converting a right-wing corner from Toby to add the visitors’ third.
Birthday boy George, Toby and Matthew were foiled by great diving saves from the overworked home keeper as the game wore on and Colts pushed forward in numbers.
Their final goal arrived when Luke threw himself at Bradley’s corner and his touch at the near post was enough to take the ball over the line for his second of the day.
