U11 CCCFC Blacks 4 Melksham Harriers 2

The blacks continued a good run of form on a perfect spring morning.

The boys started very slow and it took a wake up call from a Melksham goal to get going, Dante made another couple of impressive saves and Alex in the centre of defence kept his cool to turn away a number of opposition attacks to keep the score at 0-1.

Halfway through the first half we got our heads up and started to press harder and really want the ball. It wasn't long before we got our reward thanks to a pile driver from Nick, Joe also hit the cross bar and Josh P went just wide.

Unfortunately we went behind again but another excellent goal from Nick took us to the break all square.

All the lads pulled together for the second half, a strong defence of Henry in goal, Alex, Ben L, Alfie and Daryl across the back kept Melksham out for the rest of the match. The midfield of Josh P, Louis, Ben C, Dante, Jude and Joe worked tirelessly to keep pressing forward.

Joe showed some brilliant individual skill on the wing finishing with an excellent pass to Rory who picked his spot to score our third, Nick smashed home to make it 4-2 and to complete a very well earned hat trick.

Thanks to the effort of all the team we continue to be top of the league. Well done all.
