U10 Blue Division: CCCFC Whites 2 Trowbridge Wanderers Atletico 0 Print
Season 13/14 - Under 10 White

The Whites made sure the watching mums had an extra reason to smile on Mother’s Day as a spirited performance and some excellent football saw off a tough Trowbridge Wanderers outfit.
A brighter-than-normal start which saw chances for Matthew, Luke and hard-working frontman Brandon M went unrewarded and the well-organised Wanderers certainly had their moments at the other end as the first half wore on.
They forced a number of corners and throws deep in Colts territory and Max did well to gather the ball in a couple of goalmouth scrambles, with Josh, Tom and skipper Brandon H all clearing their lines under pressure.
Matthew and George had shots blocked as a goalless half drew to a close, with Bradley’s fierce goalbound effort hitting a defender in the face before going behind.
Just as it had in the previous two matches, the breakthrough came courtesy of Matthew. He had plenty of defenders blocking his route to goal when he took possession in midfield but weaved his way past at least four of them before finishing calmly with his left foot.
With Luke anchoring the midfield and Tom and Josh alert to Wanderers’ counter-attacking threat, Colts continued to put some fine passages of play together.
Bradley and Toby linked well to create another chance for Matthew, whose shot was gathered at the second attempt and on the goalline by the keeper.
The same trio then combined for Colts’ second goal as Toby sent over a cross from the left and Bradley adjusted his position to volley into the roof of the net and wrap up the points.
