The lads really showed us how far they have moved on in what was a very close exciting match against a skilful Calne team.

All our defenders had to be on top form and they did not let us down, Alex run back 40 yards on two occasions to stop clear shooting opportunities, Daryl, Ben L and Alfie stepped up to every challenge showing amazing commitment. Both Rory and Josh P handled the job in goal and pulled off some cracking saves.

The Midfield of Louis, Ben L, Jude and Joe kept pushing while also helping out in defence. Joe broke the deadlock in the first half with a run in from the left wing and shot with a low drive. A piece of individual skill from Rory gave us our second and Nick smashed home the third. We all held our breath for what we thought was our fourth from Nick as the ball hit the cross bar and appeared to bounce across the line but it wasn’t given, I’m sure this will re ignite the conversation on whether goal line technology should be used in U11’s……
