In a tense end to a match between two evenly matched teams, either side could come have come out
victorious.
The Falcons began well with some smooth passing moves but the Whites were always a threat on the
counter attack. Ten minutes into the game and Castle Combe began to string some good moves
together, unfortunately just failing with the shot or unable to get the last pass away.
In the second half Calne pressed hard and only the sterling work of Coles strength and Matty’s speed
in defence kept them at bay. Castle Combe responded well and were constantly denied by the Calne
keeper with Ryan testing the nerves with a few thunder bolts.
Lucas did also get the ball in the net but it was ruled out by the referee.
A great opening match from CCCFC with all the team showing some quality skills and play.
The rest of the season should be great if the first match is anything to go by.
A special call out to the defence and keeper who were outstanding on the day. |
