Season 14/15 - Under 12 White

Wow!

It is fair to say we have not been stretched yet during our league games so far. So -understandably - we took some time getting used to the pace, physical prowess and technique of our visitors from the league above us. This was certainly no giant killing however - it was a GREAT contest between two evenly well matched teams.

I thought our visitors were well on top in the first half and despite some great performances from the likes of Felix, Jayden  and Joe they deservedly took the lead towards the end of that first half.  Alex, Max and Louie started to get on the ball though and it was no real surprise when Louie slammed the ball in for an equaliser with the last kick of the half when the keeper first denied Archie and then Ben in a goalmouth scramble.

During the second half the midfield boosted by the likes of Ted, Tom & JJ gradually started becoming more and more dominant so that the game began to take place in the Chippenham half. Max Campbell had to limp out of the game which was a blow cos all the all the lads know how important his athletic presence is to us. Our second goal arrived in rather fortuitous circumstances - JJ sent in a wicked deep cross after being sent in by Arch - the keeper couldnt keep it out and we regained the lead. Our visitors did come charging back and created an amount of pressure - at which time the excellent Max Coupland couldnt keep out of a deflection off Tom (it was going to take something like that to beat Max today). This was the last kick of the game so we had an excuse to feel sorry for ourselves - not a bit of it.

EXTRA TIME - We just bossed it. They were all superb and deserve to take a bow - ARCHIE/BEN/JJ/JAY/TOM/JOE/TED/MAX/MAX/ALEX/FELIX/LOUIE.

The goal came when Louie took advantage of another scramble to brilliantly score his second of the game set up by sheer sustained pressure. It was an excellent game played in great spirit - I was very impressed with Chippenham Tn so to beat them, we had to be good.

Finally - the team would like to say that we promised each other that we would do this for Toby and Mandy, who had terrible news overnight - and we did just that. All our wishes are with you all.
