U14 Stratton Jnrs 1-6 CCCFC Print
Season 14/15 - Under 14

Its a cliche, but this was definately a game of 2 halves. The 1st half was scrappy and uninspiring for the parents and coaches to watch on a bitterly cold day. Things looked like perking up when on 26mins Eddie went clear and neatly finished past the advancing keeper, however this lead was short lived, a Stratton player was left unmarked and allowed a free header from a corner to equalise. 1-1 at halftime.

A few stern words were required during the break as Paul and I told them we were looking for a positive response and this they duly did. Suddenly our passes were reaching their destination, the movement was better as was the desire to win the ball in the tackle and this resulted in a much improved performance that in turn meant we scored 5 goals and never looked like conceding again, Dan led the way by scoring a great goal on 38mins, Eddie followed up with 2 good finishes on 48 & 65mins to complete his hatrick, a cross from Eddie allowed James to score with a fine header on 66mins, Dan notched his 2nd and our 6th on 68mins with another acomplished finish.

A special mention must go to Charlie who did a good job in goal today in the absence of Jasper, although he didn't have many saves to make his handling and distribution was excellent when required, thank you & well done Charlie.

Next game: Stratton Youth at home on Sunday 8th Feb - 12.30 kick off.
