U14 CCCFC 4 - 0 Stratton Youth Print
Season 14/15 - Under 14

The colts continued their recent good form with a 4-0 victory over Stratton Youth from Cirencester.

In the most welcome bright sunshine the colts played some really good passing football on a difficult sticky pitch and it wasn't long before they got their reward when Dan opened the scoring on 9 mins after his left foot shot went through a pack of defenders legs into the goal. The lead was extended when Eddie latched onto a loose ball in the penalty area to smash the ball past the keeper, but for a fantastic save from the keepr Jacob would have got his name on the score sheet. At the other end we needed Jasper to be at his best as he produced a couple of brilliant saves to maintain our lead. 2-0 at halftime

A touch of complacency coupled with a determined start from Stratton meant we were on the back foot a for the first 10mins, eventuallly we restored our control of the game with James, Jacob, Toby & Tom R dominating the midfield areas. It took until 60mins for us to finally make the game safe when Tom R met a Dan cross with an excellent controlled left foot volley. Toby got a deserved goal on 67mins with a great finish across the keeper into the bottom left corner, Toby almost nabbed a second after a fine pass from Eddie, but his shot struck the post. A good performance from all 13 players today. Well done.

Man of the match: A tough call, but James gets the nod after terrific all round midfield performance.

Next game: Swindon Youth away on Sunday 15th Feb.
