A great team performance this morning secured the runners up spot for the U14's as they defeated a good Croft side 5-0. The first goal on 2 mins came when a scrambled shot from James was deflected into the net from an unmentionable part of Jake's anatomy. The colts continued to play on the front foot and were rewarded with a 2nd goal on 7 mins when Dan scored from close range after a square ball from Eddie. Croft started to get into the game and would have scored, but for a fantastic save from Jasper. Eddie scored the 3rd on 21 mins when he latched onto a through ball and showed good composure to slot past the advancing keeper. Eddie went close with a header from a Dan free kick, but it went just the wrong side of the post, there were a few more goal mouth scrambles but the scored remained 3-0 at half time.

Croft started the 2nd half really well and pegged us back, but some excellent defending from the back 4 amd good goalkeeping from Jasper kept them a bay, Croft also struck the post so we did have a bit of luck as well, however we always looked dangerous on the break using the pace of Matthew, Dan & Eddie and it was from one of these breaks on 60 mins that Eddie scored our 4th, he took the ball around the keeper and finished superbly from a very tight angle. Very quick thinking produced an excellent 5th goal Dan, Eddie supplied a long throw in over a defenders head into the path of Dan who struck a wonderful first time lob over the keeper after 62 mins. This pretty much killed the game off and we saw the game out comfortably. A great way to end a fantastic season, a big thank you to all the players.
