U12 CCCFC Whites claim league title |
Season 14/15 - Under 12 White |
The guys ensured all the work of the last 9 months wasnt wasted by turning up AGAIN just when it mattered and playing exceptionally well in taking this crown. They really have played exceptionally well all through this calendar year and its the strength of the squad which has surprised and delighted me. We have consistently come up with the right answers whenever we have been asked questions in big friendlies, big league games and big cup games. On to todays game, our good friends from worton started the game exceptionally strongly showing why they were able to match our points tally of 48 from a possible 54. We knew we were playing up a slope and against the wind so we didnt panic but before we threatened at all, our bar had been struck and a good 10 mins of pressure had been weathered. We in fact went in at the break 1-0 up!! Quite simply, Max Coupland/Archie Newman/Felix Brewerton/Joe Newman were absolutely fantastic in defence. Jayden Cunningham and Angus Fullerton came into defence later on and were equally as good. JJ, Ben & Ted did superbly dominating the flanks for us. We were missing our players Player of the year (Alex) and I asked JBW, Louie Lang and Max Campbell to step up and fill the gap and they certainly all did that. JBW also found time to score both our (scrappy but...) well worked goals. I am so glad that the entire suad were there to share and witness this triumph. Tom injured himself yesterday but still came along to support and take his fair share of accolades. We have played a lot better this year but everyone of the team won their individual battle - this meant a comfortable time watching us take the title rather than a nail biting finale. I thank you all - you should be very proud of yourselves - I cartainly am a very proud coach. Thanks to Ian and Mark for their invaluable help this year and a very special mention to Dave Perry our linesman and all the other parent/supporters. Not just because youre always there, its for the unflinching support and good nature that comes from the sidelines. I would imagine that - for this alone - we would be the envy of our league. CHAMPIONEEEEEZ, CHAMPIONEEEEEZ, AWAY AWAY AWAY!!!
