I didnt intend to write long match reports this year - I would welcome anyone else if they feel inclined to take over! - but I feel todays performance is worthy of some narrative.

An even game for the first 7 minutes, seemed to be going the right way when Archie was tripped in the box. He dusted himself off and hit the pen well ......but the keeper thwarted his attempt. The repreive only lasted 90 seconds though as Louie stabbed in a goal as it got centred by JJ. Louie added a second half way though the half at a similar time to Ben lashing in a volley with great aplomb.

Fairly unspectacular that may sound - the way we played was excellent. Our two debutants Sam and JoeG were brilliant in snuffing out the dangerous attack helping Jayden and Joe keep that clean sheet whereas the dogs of war in midfield (Alex & Felix) established a vice like grip. JJ, Louie, Ben, Tom & Archie carved out chances time after time in a great display. Archie just couldnt hit the net - but to his credit, where previously he would get sulky, this time he carried on creating chances for his colleagues. This maturity was catching as purposeful passing was the watchword rather than dribbling for personal glory - the crowd loved it.

Archie almost scored the goal of the game in the second half when he tried a diving header from a superb JJ cross but it smacked against the bar. Louie then completed his hat trick before two fantastic goals - currently tied in first place for goal of the season - flew in to the top corners off the boots of Jayden and JJ. In the dying moments Alex put over a corner which archie once again threw his head at - this time the ball flew into the net from the sublime glancing header to make our day complete. Well done all - everyone was tremendous (especially Joe G) but we had to pick out Louie as MOM and next weeks skipper.
