Season 15/16 - Under 13 White

It was the same as last week - 7 goals in the game, it was just that they were shared a bit more evenly this week!! Reflecting on things - I may have been a bit too negative in my summation to the squad after the game but this felt a little like daylight robbery and after last weeks brilliant flowing football a few issues raied their heads this week - which gives us things to work on to improve.

First the game - we actually raced into a 4-0 lead whilst the play was even. Clinical finishing from Alex, Archie, Louie and Ben gave us that deserved lead which flattered us in quantity. We took nearly every chance we made whilst our hosts didnt. We then spent the rest of the game, tackling and working hard to keep Bassets score down. We flagged physically and were not taking responsibility when the ball was in our box. If it wasnt for Felix, Alex and man of the match Joe G we would have onceded more. Thanks guys.

We arrived with only one sub and a few of the squad still yet to hit full fitness. Our strong spine was enough on this occasion but we are going to need more players available and to be fitter if we are to similarly triumph when it comes to even tougher assignments. We will also continue to try to give the lads the confidence to shout out their name and take responsibility in defensive situations. This is key to our progression. Again in retrospect  we should all appreciate that this league is a step up from last years and we still look a very good team. The way the new guys (specifically Reece and Joe) have stepped in has been magnificent and the entire squad are contributing well.
