We took to the field without our 30 goal centre forward wondering who would step up, become a hero and  fill the gap.

Whilst it was true that we squandered loads of chances - a fair proportion of which we would normally expect to score - we also dominated posession and field position so only had to contend with sporadic counter attacks from our guests. We turned around at 1-1 and I calmly informed the lads that if they played the same as the first half we would win. I was working on the basis that we would take a higher proportion of our chances and I was to be proved right. We had a few walking wounded - Tom had to go in goal while reece limped out and Sam had to play on pitch. Therefore there were plenty of excuses if our players wanted to use them.

Instead we strengthened our grip on second place by rattling in 4 more goals (Total = Louis 2 Cameron 3) and never looked in trouble in this second period. Joe Gempton continued his rapid rise back to form whereas Tom, Sam. JJ, Felix, Reece were magnificent.

Alex was absolutely everywhere and Jacob took the MOM award with a more intense display full of concentration and effort
