U14 Pewsey 1 CCCFC 3 |
A vast improvement on last weeks performance ensured the colts quickly got back to winning ways this morning against Pewsey Vale Youth. The first half hour was quite tight, although the colts had the lions share of possession. Eventually we broke the deadlock on 32mins when Toby played a ball out to Matthew who took a touch and then slotted a lovely through ball to Eddie who finished with a first time shot into the bottom left corner. We should have gone into the break with our lead intact, but a lapse of concentration allowed Pewsey to equalise on the stroke of halftime. The colts started the 2nd half brightly and were gaining confidence, on 50mins Matthew scored an outrageous goal from all of 30yds after he spotted the keeper off his line. Jasper made a superb save to maintain our lead, Toby and Jake were dominating the middle of the pitch and were both passing the ball well. A superb pass from Toby on 67mins gave Jamie the chance to secure the points, the keeper partially saved his shot, but couldn't stop it from crossing the line. The colts saw out the remaining minutes with little trouble as they kept good possession of the ball. A good result. Man of the match: Toby - excellent in central midfield Next game: Stratton Juniors at home - Sunday 26th Oct kick off 12.30pm |
